We are a thriving practice in South Canterbury, with branches in Geraldine, Fairlie and Timaru. As a truly mixed practice we care for companion animals and service dairy, sheep, beef and deer farms, allowing our team to develop interesting and varied careers.
Our Vet and Vet tech teams are hugely experienced and up to date with the latest technology and procedures. We are very focused on preventative medicine and consultancy services and enjoy working with a loyal and proactive client base. We have a great depth of knowledge among our small animal vets and an excellent team of nurses and support staff. Our Highfield clinic, in Timaru, is BESTPRACTICE® accredited and has a very well-equipped small animal surgery.
We actively encourage and fund our team members to continue their education. As well as paid CPD opportunities, such as conferences and courses with external providers, we regularly hold in house training sessions and vet team meetings to keep our team up to date. These are great opportunities to share information and sit down for a meal and a few laughs.
At Aorangi Vets we work hard, and we play hard, with a very active social committee who ensure that there’s always an event to look forward to. We recognise veterinary medicine can be stressful at times and we also have a wellness committee, committed to ensuring all team members have our full support.
Aorangi Veterinary Services are proudly not a corporate. We have a team of six owners who are all vets, living locally and working as part of our team. Our leadership is open and approachable with a people-orientated, family friendly environment that has served us well for the past 45 years. Aorangi Vets now employs over 40 people. We place an emphasis on happiness and team work to create a workplace that is fun, productive and successful. Many of our longstanding, senior staff joined Aorangi Vets as new graduate vets or nurses and are now part of our leadership team.
South Canterbury is a great place to live. All the benefits of rural and small-town NZ with the opportunities of the big smoke and the great outdoors on a plate! Aorangi Vets is focussed on having a happy team with good work life balance and strong connections to our local community.
