Pets in hot cars
Posted in: Companion Animals
Did you know it’s illegal to leave your pet in a car on a hot day and you can be liable for a $300 fine?
The windows of your car act like a glass house and the inside temperature can get very hot, very quickly – even with the windows cracked.
If it’s 22 degrees outside it can be 40 degrees inside after only ten minutes. While you duck into a shop for half an hour, the temperature can quickly climb to over 50 degrees in your car. This is unsurvivable for your pet.
If you’re heading out on a hot day, please consider where you will be leaving your pet and make sure they are cool and happy.
